FEBRUARY 4 - Super Museum Sunday with Coastal Heritage Society Is February 7th
The Coastal Heritage Society invites the public to join us for Super Museum Sunday, February 7th, 2010 from 12pm to 4pm.
This day of free admission comes once a year, so before the big game starts come out to experience four of Savannah’s most exciting historic places as a family!
Enjoy learning about life as a Civil War soldier at Old Fort Jackson, located off President Street, with scheduled cannon firings through the day.
Get patriotic at Battlefield Park on MLK, Jr. Blvd with education programming about the 1779 Siege of Savannah Revolutionary battle and musket firing demonstrations.
Special programming at the Roundhouse Railroad Museum, located at 601 West Harris Street, includes tours of executive rail cars, hard-hat tours, steam engine demonstrations, story time and activities for the kids, and the popular train ride!
Learn more about local history at the Savannah History Museum, featuring our new “Quilts, Coverlets, and Creativity” exhibit. Consider having lunch at the Whistle Stop Café or kick up your feet at the Boiler Room Coffee Shop, both located behind the Savannah History Museum across the street from the Roundhouse Railroad Museum.
