The City of Savannah's Cultural Arts Theatre will present "A Midsummer Night’s Dream," March 26 at 7 p.m. & 9 p.m. in the Black Box at S.P.A.C.E., 9 W. Henry St.

This delightful story of mischief and mistaken identity based on William Shakespeare’s comedy and adapted by Cultural Arts Theatre Director, Ellie Pyle, allows the actors to play several parts, adding another layer to the “fantasy vs. reality” themes explored in the play.  The production originally toured Chatham County Schools in early spring 2010, as part of a community outreach initiative.

The 7 p.m. show will also feature students from Hubert Middle School’s 21st century program, performing a staged reading of a shortened Macbeth (with a traditional all male cast) and students from Garrison Elementary School’s 21st Century program performing a staged reading of a brief version of The Tempest.

This event is free and open to the public; seating is first come first serve. Gallery S.P.A.C.E. opens at 6 p.m; the house opens at 6:30 p.m for the 7 p.m. performance. The gallery and the house open at 8:30 p.m. for the 9 p.m. performance. Call 912-651-6783 for more information.
