JUNE 26 - SCCPSS Needs Your Help to Find Mentors for New In2Books Program
SCCPSS is seeking mentors for an exciting new program called In2books. This program fosters reading, writing, and critical thinking skills by connecting caring adult mentors referred to as “pen pals” with children in the classroom.
We need to recruit 800 mentors from the Savannah community to help with 50 3rd-5th grade classrooms beginning in the fall. The pen pals and students will have to read five books together and exchange online letters discussing issues in the books over the course of the school year.
Registration is easy and can be completed online by visiting our website (www.sccpss.com) and accessing the In2Books tab on the right side of the page.
Please help us by promoting this program and posting on your website. If you would like to set up an interview with district staff to talk about this new initiative, please contact Tarcia Bush, Community Engagement Liaison at (912) 395-1043 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. We need the support of the community to make this program successful!
